【摘要】:Thisguideisintendedtoserveasareferencetotheplasticscommunityformaterialpropertiesneededinengineeringdesign.Productdatasheetsorproductliteraturetypicallyreportsingle-pointvaluesatambientconditionsandhence,bytheirverynature,areinadequateforengineeringdesignandstructuralanalysisofacomponentorsystem.Adetailedpropertyprofilefortheparticulargradechosenforagivenpartnotonlyenhancestheconfidenceofthedesignengineerbyallowingamorerealisticassessmentofthematerialunderclose-to-actualserviceenvironmentsbutalsomayavoidprematurefailureofthedesignedcomponentandpotentialliabilitylitigationlater.Additionally,itwouldalsoeliminateuseoflargerx201C;designsafetyfactorsx201D;thatresultinx201C;overengineeringx201D;orx201C;overdesign.x201D;Notonlyissuchoverdesignunwarranted,butitaddstothetotalpartcost,resultinginagoodexampleofineffectivedesignwithplasticsandaprimetargetforsubstitutionbyothermaterials.Oneoftheproblemsfacedbydesignengineersisaccesstocomparabledataamongsimilarproductsfromdifferentmaterialsuppliersbecauseofthelackofstandardizedreportingformatintheplasticsindustry.ISO10350.1,11403-1,and11403-2areintendedtoaddressthecomparabilityofdataissueonlyasfarassingle-pointandmultipointdataformaterialselection.Thisguideattemptstoserveasameanstostandardizetheformattoreportcomparabledataforengineeringdesign.ItisessentialthatincorporatingstandardizedtestspecimengeometryandspecifictestconditionsasrecommendedinGuideD1999,PracticeD3641,orISO3167and294-1areanintegralpartofthedatageneration.1.1Thisguidecoverstheessentialmaterialpropertiesneededfordesigningwithplastics.Itspurposeistoraisetheawarenessoftheplasticscommunityregardingthespecificconsiderationsinvolvedinusingtheappropriatematerialpropertiesindesigncalculations.1.2Thisguideisintendedonlyasaconvenientresourceforengineeringdesign.Itshouldbenotedthatthespecificoperatingconditions(temperature,appliedstressorstrain,environment,etc.andcorrespondingdurationofsuchexposures)couldvarysignificantlyfromoneapplicationtoanother.Itis,therefore,theresponsibilityoftheusertoperformanypertinenttestsunderactualconditionsofusetodeterminethesuitabilityofthematerialintheintendedapplication.1.3TheapplicableISOandASTMstandardmethodsfortherelevantmaterialpropertiesarelistedinthisguideforthebenefitofdesignengineers.1.4Itshouldbenotedthatforsomeofthedesiredproperties,noASTMorISOstandardsexist.TheseincludepvTdata,no-flowtemperature,ejectiontemperature,andfatigueintension.Intheseinstances,relyingonavailabletestmethodsissuggested.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.
